Abstract (EN)
Ionizing radiation is one of most common used physical phenomena for diagnosis and treatment of diseaes. But, no doubt there are some damages of ionizing radiation on living tissues. Therefore, using such kind of radiation radiation within the safest possible limits is the first principle in diagnosis and treatment. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the biological effect of x-rays radiation used in diagnostic doses with the survival efficiency of bacteria in the microbiota, which are in an interactive relationship with humans. Accordingly, the 4 most common members of human microflora Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Enterococcus faecalis bacteria were produced in own media and exposed to the doses in routine protocol used in radiology. In the results obtained, the radiation effect at the relatively low doses in the x-rays protocols was evaluated as negative due to intense reproduction. In as to Computed Tomography protocols, on the other hand, the effect of reduction after exposure to x-rays was observed in all bacteria, although at different values. In conclusion, x-rays doses used in computed tomography diagnostic protocols were to be seen a decreasing on Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Enterococcus faecalis bacteria compared to the control group.
