Abstract (EN)

From the beginning of the nineteenth century, Sons of the Conquerors organization was renewed. In 1810, a new regulation was prepared and entered into force. After Mahmud II(1808-1839) abolished the Janissary Cops, He worked on reforms for the existing regular and irregular military corps. Sons of the Conquerors, one of the irregular troops was subjected to the military reformation. First, a number of Asâkir-i Mansûre officers to train Sons of the Conquerors was sent from Istanbul to Thessaloniki. Then, on the eve of the Ottoman-Russian War (1828-1829), it prepared a new regulation for these troops. The main objective of the 1828 regulation was to restore and modernize the outdated system. Sons of the Conquerors was reorganized as four infantry battalions, each of whom consists of 814 persons. Four infantry battalions were organized under the name "Thirteen Regiments". Sons of the Conquerors' troops combated against Ottoman forces against the Egyptian army. The organization of Sons of the Conquerors, which does not match the existing organizational structure with the Tanzimat reforms, was abolished in 1845.
