Abstract (EN)
Biological control has become necessary to preserve our environment and futureas a result of harmful effects of insecticid which are used for fighting against harmfulinsects. Bacteria are used as an agent against harmful insects as they are the naturalenemies of these insects. These bacteria don't give any kind of harm to products butonly to these insects. If entomopathogen bacteria are isolated, developed and used forthe control of hazelnut pets, This will limit the use of the chemicals on the hazelnutindustry.Hazelnut is one of the most important products for Black Sea Region in terms ofproduction and exportation. There are quite a few pests at hazelnut fields. Most of thesepests belong to the Lepidoptera and Coleoptera orders. According to the recent studiesand observations, the damage of bark beetles (Col.: Curculionidae) on hazelnut pests aregradually increasing. It is determined that Xylosandrus germanus, one of the barkbeetles, gives damage to the healthy and dried branches of trees.Based on morphological, physiological, biochemical and molecular tests, 16bacteria isolated from Xylosandrus germanus were be investigated in this study. As aresult of studies; isolates were identified as 2 Acinetobacter psychrotolerans,Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, 2 Pseudomonas fluorescens, Staphylococcus hominissubsp. novobiosepticus, Staphylococcus warneri, 2 Pantoea agglomerans,Staphylococcus hominis subsp. hominis, 2 Erwinia billingiae, Brevibacterium linens,Advenella sp., Pantoea cedenensis and Brevibacterium permense. Also insecticidal andantibacterial activities of these bacteria were investigated. Keywords: Curculionidae, Hazelnut, Xylosandrus germanus, 16S rDNA
