Abstract (EN)

Language; It is a living being that provides agreement between people and helps the transfer of ideas and feelings. Every nation speaks its own language. Culture; It is the whole of material and spiritual values that a nation has accumulated over many years and passed from generation to generation. Foreign language teaching; It is the total of activities aimed at teaching a new language other than the mother tongue to the individual in line with a goal. In order to learn a language, it is not enough to learn the grammar of that language or to acquire the basic language skills of that language, it is also necessary to have a good command of the culture. Teaching Turkish as a foreign language has become widespread in recent years. Textbooks are one of the most important sources of culture transfer in the field of teaching Turkish as a foreign language. In this study, cultural elements in the A1, A2, B1, B2, and C1 levels of "New Istanbul Turkish For International Students" course and workbooks used in the field of teaching Turkish to foreigners were analyzed. The research was analyzed by the document analysis method, one of the types of survey model. As a result of the study, it was concluded that "New Istanbul Turkish For International Students" A1, A2, B1, B2, and C1 books have rich content in terms of cultural elements, but they do not show a balanced distribution among the levels.
