Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to examine the word groups in Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu's novel 'Ankara'. Fort his purpose, first of all, the literatüre on the field was searched and the views of linguists about the definition, naming, classification and general characteristics of the word group concept were examined. During the examinations, different definitions and classifications of word groups were encountered. In this study, the classification and definitions in Leylâ Karahan's book "Turkish Syntax" are based. In this direction, the study consists of introduction, three main sections, conclusion and bibliography. In the introduction part, information about the purpose, method and limitations of the study is given. In the first chapter, information is given about the life, literary personality and work of Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu. In the second part, the definitions, naming and classifications of the linguists about the word groups were included and the differences of opinion were tried to be revealed. In the third part, the word groups were classified and examined, and then the situation of the word groups in other word groups was examined. While examining the word groups in this section, examples related to the subject are given from the novel "Ankara". When it comes to the conclusion part, all the word groups on the pages selected by random sampling were tried to be determined and some evaluations were made about the language and style of the author. In the bibliography section, the sources that we have used throughout our thesis are given.
