Abstract (EN)

The concept of fiction has been referred to as a concept belonging to the field of literature for many years. As seen in contemporary art practices after 1960, fiction has become a part of contemporary art over time. As there is an interdisciplinary interaction between two different branches of art, it is not thought that the concept of fiction passes directly from literature to plastic arts. For this reason, it was deemed necessary to investigate how fiction was formed and developed in contemporary art. Thus, the reflections of the concept of fiction in the field of literature and contemporary art have been historically researched and it has been determined that fiction emerges in two forms in plastic arts. While the concept was examined in the field of literature, its aspects that would serve contemporary art were given priority and it was prevented from becoming a research on literature. As the only indicator of the existence of the concept of fiction in plastic arts, the works of four artists in which they created imaginary universes were examined. In the section of personal applications, it is explained how the concept of fiction manifests in plastic arts, thanks to the meeting of the fictional characters with the space and the support of this meeting with a story.
