Abstract (EN)

Text linguistics, a subfield of linguistics, is a significant area of study as it enables the holistic analysis of texts. Among its aims are understanding the relationship between texts and their authors, opening new perspectives into the semantic world of language, and interpreting the reasons and methods behind the use of existing words. The purposes for which language is used in both spoken and written forms, as well as the emotions it aims to convey to the reader, are addressed through studies in text linguistics. In seeking answers to such questions, text linguistics reveals the essential role of language in human life. In this study, Yaşar Kemal's novella "Kuşlar da Gitti" is analyzed within the framework of the criteria of textuality. The study consists of five main sections. The first section provides an overview of Yaşar Kemal's life and literary works. The second section presents an introduction to the field of text linguistics. The third section offers a micro-level analysis, focusing specifically on cohesion, and includes illustrative examples. In the fourth section, the macro-level structure of the work is examined, with a particular emphasis on the dimension of coherence. The final chapter presents a superstructural analysis, in which the overall tone of the text is identified. The primary aim of these analyses is to enable the interpretation of texts through text linguistic methods and to contribute to the field by presenting concrete findings. It is believed that the results obtained will offer valuable insights for textual reading and analysis.
