Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to reveal the situation of Yemeni women (social, economic, educational, health and security effects of the civil war) during and after the Yemeni civil war and to examine the actual role of women in peace efforts. The importance of this study; the research of the Yemeni Civil War period is conducted by a Yemeni female researcher with a focus on Yemeni women and women's organizations. Regardless of the introduction and conclusion, the study which consists of three parts, firstly focuses on the relationship between civil war and women's organizations. Secondly, the civil war process has been examined in detail by referring to the history of Yemen from its establishment to the present. Finally, the reflection of the Yemeni Civil War on women is discussed and examples of Yemeni women's organizations in peace efforts are given. As a result of the research, it is seen that many factors, both inside and outside the country, are sources of instability in Yemen. It has been determined that Yemeni women are at the forefront of those who suffer most from the civil war situation in Yemen. Although women's organizations such as the Yemeni Women's Union have an important role in eliminating these disadvantaged positions of women and in creating a general peace environment throughout the country, it has been determined that these organizations have a greater impact on supporting these organizations.
