Abstract (EN)
The study was conducted as a randomized controlled trial in order to evaluate the effects of SPEOS (oxytocin massage, endorphin massage, positive thinking) and marmet technique applied to mothers whose babies were hospitalized in the NICU on milk secretion and anxiety levels. The study were collected between 02.11.2022 and 23.06.2023 in a training and research hospital in Turkey. The study was conducted with a total of 60 mothers, 20 mothers each in the SPEOS, marmet and control groups, who had a cesarean delivery and whose babies were treated in the neonatal intensive care unit. The Mother and Baby Identifier Information Form and Spielberger's State Anxiety Inventory were used to obtain the data. The data were analyzed using Chi-Square, ANOVA test and Turkey HSD analysis from post hoc tests. When the anxiety scores of the mothers in the groups were compared, it was determined that there was no significant difference in the first measurement (p>0,05). In the evaluation made at the end of the study, it was determined that there was a significant difference between the groups in terms of anxiety scores (p<0,05) and that the anxiety scores of the mothers in the control group were higher than those of the mothers in the intervention groups (p<0,000). When the mothers' milk expression amounts were compared; it was determined that there was a significant difference between the groups in the first measurement (p<0,000). It was determined that SPEOS received the highest score, followed by the control group, and the marmet group received the lowest score (p<0,000). In the second and third measurements, it was determined that SPEOS received the highest score, followed by the marmet group, and the control group received the lowest score (p<0,000). As a result, it was determined that the SPEOS and marmet technique increased the amount of breast milk and decreased the anxiety scores of the mothers.
