Abstract (EN)

In the near future for the traditional fossil energy sources, the depletion prediction and the environmental adverse effects of such energy sources have brought the countries to trend to renewable energy sources. This trend is also related to the emergence of renewable energy sources as a cleaner, natural and sustainable source as potential for growth and development. Renewable energy has become a necessity as an alternative to the release of a world that can live for future generations, and in addition to the need for additional energy resources that they will need. This requirement is valid in Turkey in terms of meeting the rising energy demand, reducing energy dependency and environmentally friendly production. Turkey's renewable energy resources will be actively mobilized with the necessary regulations and policies will be created in this direction and investments will soon be vital and will make important contributions in terms of economic, social, political, environmental and other factors. In this context, support based on tax incentives and other financial instruments play an important role. Dealt with the above principles, the aim of this study, is to evaluate the tax incentives of renewable energy sources in terms of Turkey. For this purpose, the study has been dealt with in three chapters. In the first part, general explanations about renewable energy and tax incentives has been made. In the second part, incentive types and financial support instruments for renewable energy resources has been studied in the world with selected countries such as Germany, USA, China, Japan, UK, India, Norway and EU. In the third chapter, the evaluation of tax incentives for renewable energy sources in Turkey is discussed in the light of economic, social, environmental and Turkey's 2023 targets.
