Abstract (EN)
Energy, which has become an important need in all areas of life from the past to the present, has gained an important place in the world agenda as an ever-increasing need. In addition to increasing prices in the supply-demand equation, environmental pollution due to consumption has brought about the search for cleaner and more economical alternatives to this energy need, which is mostly obtained from fossil sources. Today, the clean and sustainable wind energy source is widely preferred in terms of being both economical and environmentally friendly, and it is known to have a significant reducing effect on carbon emissions. In our study, the investment feasibility of the wind power plant with an installed power capacity of 54 mwh, which is planned to be established in Balıkesir province, has been discussed in detail together with the cost income items, and its advantage has been shown with numerical data by comparing it with the alternative returns of the capital. In addition to its financial advantage, its environmental aspect has been discussed with econometric analysis within the scope of cost-benefit analysis, and the results of how the increase in wind energy production and consumption as a primary source have a positive effect on carbon emissions in the short and long term are shared. It is expected that the study will serve a social purpose in terms of reducing carbon emissions, as well as giving ideas to the initiatives doing research for the establishment of such renewable energy power plants.
