Use of nanoparticles obtained by green synthesis in pharmaceutical residual removal

Abstract (EN)
In this study, the use of wild blackberry leaves grown in the Western Black Sea region of Turkey in an environmentally friendly synthesis method called "green synthesis" and then the efficiency of pharmaceutical residue removal were investigated. First, blackberry leaves were extracted and reacted with copper (II) sulfate salt. Then, the characterization process was completed by performing XRD, SEM, EDS, FTIR analyzes of the obtained nanoparticles and it was proven that CuO nanoparticles were formed. These CuONPs were used in the removal of paracetamol, which is frequently used in daily life as a drug active ingredient and detected in wastewater. Adsorption and advanced oxidation processes (Ultrasound / H2O2 and Ultraviolet / H2O2) were used for the removal of paracetamol, which was analyzed in the HPLC device. According to the results obtained, 65% paracetamol removal was achieved with the adsorption process in 60 minutes, 74% with the US / H2O2 process in 45 minutes, and 97% with the UV / H2O2 process in 15 minutes. As a result of the kinetic studies, a kinetic model study was conducted and it was determined that the kinetic model was suitable for adsorption, pseudo 2nd degree, for CuONP/US/H2O2, pseudo 2nd degree and Behnajady kinetic model for CuONP/UV/H2O2 Behnajady kinetic model. The Langmuir isotherm was found to be the most appropriate in the isotherm study for adsorption. The reuse of the material is; In the 2nd use, the removal data is reduced to 42.21%. As a result of the cost analysis, the cost of CuONP synthesis was calculated as approximately 18.75 TL.
