Green new deals, sustainability and capitalism: A political-economic evaluation

This study aims to evaluate how the capitalist system feeds the ecological crisis that threatens the conditions of living beings in nature. What capitalism threatens today is the deprivation of all living beings in the world from their natural environments and conditions. Those who pay the price for these are animals, plants and the poor. While the study evaluates that the causes of environmental problems are human activities, what is actually meant is the activities carried out by some global powers that rule the world. As a result of these activities, capitalism is getting stronger every day while nature is depleting every day. Therefore, it is not possible to separate the economy and the environment from each other. Because capitalism, as a production system that causes ecological disaster, cannot enter a direction that is contrary to its own nature. This study also includes the steps required to overcome the ecological crisis and whether the capitalist economy and market laws are compatible with each other. Capitalism tends to grow. With this growth, energy use and consumption also increase. This energy increase has been evaluated mostly around sustainability, climate change and carbon emissions due to energy use. It has been suggested that sustainability does not only have an economic meaning but also includes social inequalities, combating unemployment, protecting the natural environment and resources. Although this study suggests that nature is oppressed under the pressure of capitalism, the efforts of countries to find solutions in line with the problems experienced in cooperation in order to keep this oppression at a minimum level, the fact that there are responsibilities imposed on countries; and the mobilization of the whole world by gaining at least a global dimension for environmental movements are supported.
