Abstract (EN)

In today's world, food waste has become a serious global issue with both environmental and economic implications. Food and beverage establishments contribute significantly to the unnecessary waste of edible food. Restaurants, hotels, cafes, and supermarkets are among the businesses where edible food is wasted due to factors such as mismanaged inventory, discarding products nearing expiration dates, and leftovers on plates. This not only increases costs for businesses but also leads to the unnecessary consumption of natural resources. This thesis focuses on proposing a mobile application as an approach to reduce food waste in food and beverage establishments. Consistent with the objective of the thesis, a mobile application model called "YeBitir" was designed using the FlutterFlow development platform. This application aims to connect consumers who want to purchase leftover meals from food and beverage establishments at discounted prices with these businesses. The application's features, visuals, and functionality are described in detail. Businesses can add products, set prices, and track orders, while consumers can search for products, add items to their cart, and place orders. In conclusion, it is believed that the proposed mobile application can be an effective tool in reducing food waste, providing benefits such as cost savings, increased revenue, and customer satisfaction for businesses. For consumers, it offers advantages such as accessing affordable meals, having a variety of options, and fostering a sense of social responsibility. This application aims to establish a positive relationship between food and beverage establishments and consumers, benefiting both the economy and the environment.
