Abstract (EN)
Distillation is a good separation technique in that different substances in the solution have different boiling points. Obtaining the energy required for evaporation in distillation by using concentrated solar energy will reduce energy requirement costs. In this context, the distillation system, which is integrated with the parabolic trough type solar collector, was created as natural convection, and the distillation of sea water, which is a slightly polluted waste water, under Trabzon conditions was experimentally investigated. As a result, it was observed that 321 ° C was reached in the focus of the parabolic trough type solar collector, and the fluid reached an average of 200 ° C at the outlet of the collector. With an integrated steam separator into the system, the continuity of the system is ensured by separating the vapor from the liquid-vapor mixture that may come from the collector when solar radiation is not sufficient. In this way, fluid entry into the exchanger in the vapor phase is guaranteed. As a result of the findings, it was observed that the system efficiency varied between 16.34% and 21.72% for different days and time periods, and the hourly distilled water amounts were close to each other. The highest distillation amount was recorded as 900 ml/h.
