Investigation of ethical usage levels of internet technologies of students in Department of Management Information Systems and Department of Computer and Instructional Technology Education

The aim of the research is to examine the ethical usage levels of internet technologies of undergraduate and graduate students in Departments of Management Information Systems and Computer and Instructional Technologies. The study was conducted with 491 students from Aksaray University, Ahi Evran University and Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University in 2016-2017 academic year. The scale of the research carried out in the screening model consists of two parts; the personal information form developed by the researcher and the internet ethical use scale. While there are 16 demographic questions in the personal information form; In the internet ethical dimension, 38 questions regarding the ethical use of the internet are included. Scale; The Fundamental Principles consist of six dimensions: Integrity, Safety, Healthy Internet Usage, Online Courtesy, and Copyright. SPSS 22 program was used in the analysis of the data obtained in the research. In the study, nine sub-probing responses were searched and descriptive statistics related to the data as well as t-test, ANOVA and correlation analyzes were applied. As a result of the research; female students have higher levels of ethical use of the Internet than male students. There was a meaningful difference in the level of honesty, copyright and healthy internet usage for classroom level and ethical use of internet and as the class levels of students increased in honesty and copyright dimensions, the internet ethical usage levels increased as to the students. In the healthy internet use level, as the class levels increased. There was a meaningful difference between the income levels of the students' families and the ethical use level of the internet in terms of the size of the healthy Internet usage and as the income level of the families increased, the ethical use levels of the students decreased. There is a meaningful difference between the duration of stay of students and the level of ethical use of internet in terms of security and healthful Internet usage levels. As the duration of staying in the Internet increases, the ethical usage of internet increases. However, have been achieved. A significant difference was found between the level of designing the web page for the students and the level of the ethical usage of the internet and it was determined that the level of ethical usage of the internet decreased as the level of designing the web page increased. There is a negative relationship between the level of program writing by the students and the level of ethical use of the Internet in terms of the Copyright size, the level of ethical use of the internet, positive play between playing games, sharing in social networks, searching for information/homework, communicating with friends, it is achieved as a result that the difference is different. There was no significant difference between students' internet use levels, personal computer availability and internet ethical usage levels.
