Abstract (EN)

In this study, changes in the physical and mechanic properties are studied at 18mm 580 kg/m3 particle boards given various amounts of paraffin. It is aimed to avoid unnecessary costs of paraffin, one of the cost item in the production of particle board, by determining the optimal amount of use. For this purpose, paraffin-free control sheet is produced. Then, various amounts of paraffin is given to only middle and top layer of sheet gradually. Respectively, sheet specimen given paraffin 450, 300, 150 and 50 ml/min. is tested at Kastamonu Entegre Particle Board Plant Laboratory according to TS EN. The physical properties of the sheet, density, humidity, swelling (24 hours ), getting water (24 hours), surface absorption and mechanic properties, bending resistance ,modulus of elasticity, internal bond strength, screw holding strength and surface strength resistance is analyzed at intervals. However, the effect of the amount of paraffin particle board cost was investigated. At the end of the study, the result of changing the amount of paraffin or not giving, except humidity, swelling (24 hours) and getting water (24 hours ) of physical mechanic values of sheet is not against to TS EN standards.
