Abstract (EN)

With the increasing population, there is a shortage of natural resources and space in the world. Considering today, where problems such as scarcity of vacant lands, increase in carbon footprint, global warming danger and drought make themselves felt, it is almost inevitable that high-rise buildings will increase in the future. Since high buildings take up less space, it is possible to obtain a more organized city and less costly infrastructure (transportation, electricity, communication, water-wastewater, natural gas, etc.) with high-rise buildings. This reduces the carbon footprint and turns the world into a livable place. On the contrary, it can also harm the plants and animals living in nature, affect the transportation and psychology of the people living in that area, disrupt the fabric of the city, and even be nothing more than a pile of concrete and iron. In this respect, many assessment tools have been developed for the evaluation of high-rise buildings and for guiding the future. LEED, BREEAM, GREENSTAR, CASBEE, HK BEAM, DGNB, BEAT and ATHENA are some of these assessment tools. The most used and best five of these tools made in our thesis is to collect them under common topics. According to the evaluation scores and credits given to these subject titles, the importance levels of the main titles of the evaluation tool in the thesis were determined, and a score distribution was made accordingly. Although the evaluation questions in the thesis are unique in some places, they are generally based on the evaluation questions of these five tools. Unlike other tools, thanks to this tool, which is based on sustainability while constructing high-rise buildings regardless of location and region, where everyone can answer with more understandable and simple questions and evaluate their own building, meeting on a common denominator between countries, high-rise buildings to be constructed in accordance with this sustainability will guide the future. and to make the future more livable. Another aim is to turn these evaluation questions into a simple handbook and to be able to access and use them on the website or in the form of a booklet by local governments or municipalities. The tool created in the thesis was applied on the total of twelve high-rise buildings in Turkey. As a result, it is necessary to give more importance to the sustainability of high-rise buildings, and to carry out the necessary inspections and practices while constructing high-rise buildings.
