Throughout the history Turkish soldier-nation feature is represented by brave soldiers, named as "Alp" in pre-İslamic team and named as "Alperen" after İslam. In our history, the important concepts such as martydam and veterans, gaininy a different mather from other communities have been passed on through generations as a survival reflex event associated with them. The military service, penetrated deeply into Turkish people's culture, has been researched so many times. The book which has been taken as a basic in this study and provides many military terms is the book of "Officer's Military Bag" by Bursalı Mehmet Nihat, who is considered as one of the "first war historians". We have given information about the author and his works in the first part of our research. We did the transcription of the text "Officer's Military Bag". In this book, the author who studied on logistics in Turkish and German army, military branches like infantry, cavalry, artillery and the weapons used, gave information on teaching and training of various military arms, practice both on map and field, referee services on practices and military expeditions. He compared Turkish army's field manual with German army's by making various translations where he thought it was necessary. In the second part of our research, we tried to find out the military terms that are mentioned in the book and tried to explain them. Also, we aimed to correct some incorrect information in the resources such as the word ateş which is thought as Persian origin whereas it is actually Turkish origin.
