Zeynîzâde Hüseyin's Münşeât (Transcription and evaluation)

This study consists of transcription, abstract and evaluation of the münşeât compiled by Zeynîzâde Hüseyin b. Ahmed in the 18th century. Zeynîzâde Hüseyin's münşeât is registered in number 868 in Reşid Efendi catalogue in Süleymaniye Library. In Turkish history, the works of münşeât in the context of the bureaucracy of the Seljuk and Ottoman states are the examples of historiography. Official correspondence, such as ferman, berat, kâime, tezkîre and takrîr increases its importance. At the same time, these works make a significant contribution to the development of Turkish language and literature, and enable the determination of the existing changes and developments. Zeynîzâde Hüseyin's Münşeât consists of the first examples of munshis having lived in 15th -18th centuries and their national and international correspondence. His national correspondence belongs to statesmen such as grand vizier, vizier, defterdar, Shayk al-Islam. International correspondence includes the Ottoman-Iranian relations. In the 18th century, Zeynîzâde Hüseyin's Münşeât was aimed to introduce the Ottoman tradition of münşeât t. In addition, the diplomatic and bureaucratic actions of the Ottoman Empire were evaluated through the existing documents.
