Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted by face-to-face interviews with a total of 78 people living in the villages of Zeytinlik, Dokuzoğul, Sarıbudak, Oruçlu, Kalburlu and Ballıüzüm, affiliated to the Zeytinlik Forest Management Directorate of the Artvin Forest Management Directorate, between the years 2018-2019 and 2022-2024. Through the ethnobotanical questionnaire form, it was attempted to determine the plants used by the local people living in the 6 villages in the research area for various ethnobotanical purposes, the regional uses and local names of these plants, the purposes and parts of the plants they reported using, and how they were used. The plants that the local people used to eliminate health problems, stay healthy, as food or flavorings, for the care and feeding of animals and in the treatment of animal diseases, and for their beliefs or to repel harmful animals were determined. Woody plants and materials made from these plants used to shelter and shelter their animals in order to sustain their settled life, and to make tools and equipment they need in their daily lives, both indoors and/or in agricultural work, were determined. In addition, some plants that do not grow naturally in the region but are purchased or grown for their medicinal and aromatic properties were also determined. 52 families, 105 genera, and 122 woody and herbaceous plant taxa that are widespread in the research area and used by local people for various ethnobotanical purposes were identified.
