The analysis of the poems by Ziya Gökalp in the aspect of values education

The Analysis of the Poems by Ziya GÖKALP İn The Aspect Of Values EducationValue education has been started to gain importance gradually in last years. Primarily at home then at school, value education is important for espousing the values, making them a life style and transfer them to posterity. The universal values which are valid on child?s environment and the cultural values should be espoused to the child. In this context Turkish lesson has an important role in value transfering. The turkish lesson which is very rich thanks to the literary variety it contains, provides us to get information about both national moral and universal values.At this study, Ziya GÖKALP?s poems that have a great place both in world literature and turkish conception and literature, are argued. Ziya GÖKALP has lots of works from sociology to literature and from history to politics. Gökalp?s poems in which he puts his own ideas are analysed in terms of value education.At the research, the work that includes Ziya GÖKALP?s poems `Ziya GÖKALP CODE-1, POEMS AND FOLK TALES? by Fevziye Abdullah TANSEL has been taken into analysis. The analysis has been made from 103 works.The research is a descriptional study. Because the poems are going to be analysed and interpreted according to the values that are set beforehand, descriptional study has been held. As a data collecting technigue, document analysis technigue has been used. The reason why this technigue has been used is that because it has the analysis of written materials about the fact or facts that are planned to be researched. After the poems have been analysed and interpreted according to the values, the values distribution has been showed as tables.As a result, in Ziya GÖKALP?s poems it has been seen that he especially touches `love of country and nation, moral values, respect to Turkish ancestors, heroism and martyrdom?. At the end of this research, it can be said that he mentions about value education on his poems.Key Words: Value, Value Education, Ziya GÖKALP, Poem.
