Postmodernity and religion at Zygmunt Bauman

This study aims to examine the thoughts of Zygmunt Bauman, who sees the postmodern period as a reality and emphasizes it frequently in her works, about the phenomena of postmodernity and religion and the relationship between these phenomena, from a sociological perspective. In this study, Bauman's views on topics such as postmodernity, religion, god, the relationship between postmodernity and religion, the understanding of postmodern religion were examined. This research has revealed the main determinants of the postmodern period in the light of Bauman's ideas. The social change experienced in the postmodern period not only affected social institutions such as economy, politics, morality, but also affected the institution of religion. Religion, which was excluded by modernity, came to the fore in the pluralistic climate of postmodernity. Although postmodernity does not prioritize religious and religious life, it can be mentioned about a religious understanding specific to the postmodern period.
