Abstract (EN)

The coordination chemistry of N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands has been receiving great attention in recent years. A number of reports have proved that N-heterocyclic carbene ligand which forms intriguingly stable bonds with various main group transition metals, is a valuable alternative to tertiary phosphines. The unique electronic properties such as high ?-basicity and low ?-acidity make the transition metal complexes of N-heterocyclic carbenes enhanced catalytic activities in various organic transformation processes. Furthermore, the steric and electronic properties can be easily turned to optimize the selectivity and activity of metal-NHC complexes by variation of the N-substituents. Using these ligands, synthesized complexes have showed high catalytic activity in methathesis, synthesis of furane, polimerization, hydrosilylation and coupling reactions.
