Abstract (EN)

Among the sources of the history of the Ottoman Empire; the primary sources of the the importance are the shariah registers. İn this study, the number 101 of the Kastamonu Shariah Register, which covers the years between H.1254-1255 (M.1838-1839), has been examined. During this time Kastamonu is in the state of Sanjak. Shariah registers are the books in which records the decisions they made in the courts due to their duties, the documents from the center and the important events in their areas of responsibility. The fact that these records were recorded at township centers makes them an important source for local history studies. During the period of study and the specified period, important names in the Sanjak of Kastamonu, taxmans, sufis, kadı and landed proprietor in ottoman empire, mudarrises, Kastamonu's districts and villages, districts and neighborhoods, foundations serving in that period, collected taxes will shed light on the history of caste, which marked the period, was determined.
