Ceremonial protocol in the Ottoman Empire: An analysis based on the Ceremonial Register no. 1065 (AH 1219–1221 / AD 1804–1807)

Throughout its historical development, the Ottoman Empire organized grand and unique ceremonies, which were referred to as Teşrifat (protocol). The Teşrifat Register numbered 1065, obtained from the manuscripts section of the archive affiliated with the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, contains the protocol rules implemented in the Ottoman Empire between the years 1804 and 1807. The register includes detailed records of numerous ceremonies that took place during this period. Our thesis study has been developed based on the transcription and evaluation of this particular register.
