Abstract (EN)

Flowers, which are used as one of the most basic motifs of the Ottoman book arts and one of the floral motifs, have an important place. In this research, it is aimed to reveal the situation of the semi-stylized and naturalistic ornamental effects of the Ottoman book arts, which have a deep-rooted history, in the book arts, which started with the Westernization movements in the 17th and 18th centuries and made itself felt first in the cultural life. The aim of the research is to research, document and introduce the naturalistic and semi-stylized flower patterns used in the art of illumination, miniature, book binding art and Turkish paper carving art, and then to practice with new designs. As a source of inspiration from the researches, 9 original 'Turkish paper carving art' studies were produced. 1 replica work was studied by explaining it with all its stages. The research is important in terms of revealing the flowers used in the period and in terms of being a source of inspiration for the researchers.
