Abstract (EN)

In and following 1980,Turkish cinema describes female chararcters who seek sexual freedom, have been oppressed in rural section and exposed to alienation under most merciless conditions to therefore try to create 'new woman image. A mentality of medieval times exists which has been formed for centuries on, all negativities of which has been believed to attribute to cultural degeneration as the main reason such that the gap caused by this degenerated mentality led to masses of people could easily killed each other in hostility between 1968 and 1980. There emerged a medium of circumstances likely to develop despite all adversities led by 24 January economic resolutions and terms under peace and safety conditions Turkish cinema contributed to occurence of a new mentality and rapidly developed "Free woman image as well thanks to new progresses emerging in the circumstances created. Under Kemalist ideals and principles, industrialization were seen to be in all walks of life from agriculture to cinema as the necessity of modernization.
