Abstract (EN)

Islamism is a thought movement that it aims to make the Ottoman Empire be powerful again and lead Muslims to have their old dynamism. This thought movement accepts Islam as the majör reference. Islamism thoughts that appears in modern period accepts Islam as the major reference but it brings a new religion comment due to effects of modern thoughts. Islamism thought that brings a new comment to Islam tries to get place in Turkish political life and mostly manages to do it. This study analyzes the posotion of Turkish Islamism on political issues after 1980 and till todays. Islamism which had got on importint role on political issues with Milli Görüş Hareketi (national view movement) after 1970 and adhered a shock period with a military coup that came earlier. Anavatan political party and Özal filled the political gap that was created by 12th September military coup. Liberal and conservative politics that were practiced by Özal and Turkish-Islamic synthesis thought found out a changes and transformation on Islam. In that process Islamism had a partly improvement. While some Islamic groups joined into system by showing nationalist reflexion others tried to find out new things through Islamic wave that came from Iran. Refah political party that attempted to be mass party tried those groups to carry the central of system by advising themselves. However, 28th February postmodern coup, not only it was destroying all experiences which Islamists and Özal and Erbakan Islamists got, which but also it made a damage to Islamic consciousness. Consciousness having a damage led a process that had miscegenation and secularization. That hybridization and secularization that occured in the period of AK Political Party rulership shows that Islamists were in search of relief and sanctuary. Islamists that got into an inversion process with a AK Political Party rulership coalesced with the goverment. While Islamism was coalescing with the goverment. Islamists were trying to have duties in the department of the goverment as officers. Especially, Islamists thought which has been turned into a contemporary debate recently can be explained that it aims to understand what Turkish Islamists is and where its position is.
