Abstract (EN)

In this study, the dispersion of the biyology questions which were asked in student selection exam between the years 2000- 2006, their suitability for the curriculum, their dispersion according to the classes and the reasons of the failures which are confronted in the transition period from secondary education to higher education in the fied of biology have been resarched. The questions which were asked in the certain years have been examined and their dispercion percentages according to the classes 9th, 10th and 11th have been calculated. To go deeper into the roots of the problems and of the reasons of the failures, a public survey in Ankara comprising two private courses and four high schools have been conducted. The survey has been formed out of 445 students and 28 biology teachers who are from the related courses and schools. v In the scope of this research, poll forms have been used to be applied to the teachers and students. The meaningfulness level have been found as 0,27 in this research. At the end of the evaluation, it has been determined that the biyology questions in OSS are overlapping with the official curriculum of MEB ( Ministry Of Education ), and that the students find it difficult to succeed in the biology lesson. There have been suggestions to solve the problems on biyology such as increasing the lesson hours in secondary education, making the students participate in the lessons actively, getting them to make extra activities for OSS at the end of the lesson by their theachers, increasing the number of the biyology questions in OSS, teaching the subjects by using visual mateirals and making the students comprehend the importance of biyology and its place in daily life.
