Abstract (EN)
In this study, (4-alkyl-1-naphthyl)-quinolin-3-ylamide derivatives were synthesized. These compounds were prepared from the corresponding 4-alkyl-1-naphthoic acids. Chloroquine, amodiaquine and aminoquinolines are commonly used antimalarial drugs. The Winthrop group discovered cannabimimetic aminoalkylindoles (AAIs) as a result of modelling studies. The quinoline ring core of aminoquinolines and the naphthalene group of cannabimimetic AAIs were combined to devise (4-alkyl-1-naphthyl)-quinolin-3-ylamide derivatives. These aminoquinoline-based derivatives were synthesized for drug applications. The chemical structures of the synthesized compounds were characterized by Elemental Analysis, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (1H and 13C NMR), Liquid Chromatography-Mass-Mass Spectroscopy (LC-MS-MS), Ultraviolet-Visible Spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Photoluminescence (PL). The (4-alkyl naphth-1-yl)quinolin-3-ylamide derivatives were evaluated for antimicrobial activity and examined for various physicochemical parameters.
