Investigation of social behavior of 48-60 month old children by technological device usage status

Abstract (EN)
In this study, 48 - 60 months old children attending pre-school education institutions have various variables (gender, type of school, mother's working status, number of children in the family, presence / absence of Internet at home), and especially the technological device in the classroom environment according to their frequent or infrequent use. Relational scanning model was used to determine the differentiation status of social behaviors. The study group consisted of 169 children aged 48 - 60 months attending official and private kindergartens under the Ministry of National Education in the city center of Isparta. As a data collection tool; "Information Form for Technological Devices", "Preschool Social Behavior Scale - Teacher Form (PSBS-TF)" was used to determine the characteristics of children and their families and to obtain information about the use of technological tools. The questionnaire on the use of technological tools consists of three parts. In the first part, there are 9 demographic questions, in the second part there are questions about the technological devices in the house of three families and in the last section there are eight questions about the use of technological devices of the child. SPSS package program was used for data analysis. In the analysis of the data, Kruskal Wallis - H Test or Mann Whitney - U Test was used according to the categories of sub problems. As a result of the analyzes, there were significant differences between the social behaviors of 48-60 months old children and several variables. The social behavior of the children according to their gender in favor of girls in the sub-dimension of positive social behavior, and in favor of boys in the sub-dimension of physical aggression, in favor of children attending the special kindergarten in the sub-dimension of positive social behavior, in the favor of children attending the kind of school, physical aggression, relational aggression and depressive affect In the favor of the children attending the state kindergarten, the social behaviors differ significantly in terms of physical aggression, relational aggression and depressive affect sub-dimensions in favor of the children who have internet connection at home.
