Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to make the adaptation study of (TGMD-2) Test of Gross Motor Development-2 (Ulrich,2000), to examine the formation and implementation of basic movement education programs for 5-6 year old children, and as a result, the effect of this program on the development of movement skills on 5-6 year old children and to observe the effect of gender-age variables on motor development.The research has been carried out in two extents. Firstly, validity and reliability measures for the adaptation study of TGMD-2 have been tested. And secondly, the effect of the basic movement program on the movement skills of 5-6 year old children has been investigated. In the adaptation study of TGMD-2, randomly chosen 480 5-10 year old children form the pattern group. In order to execute the second stage, the trial of the effect of the basic movement program, the research has been carried out with 60 children from 5 year old group (30 test, 30 control) and 60 children from 6 year old group (30 test, 30 control). The measurements are made with the Test of Gross Motor Development-2 (BKMGT-2) and the balance sub-test of the Bruininks-Oseretsky Motor Efficiency Test. At the end of the pre-test practices of 5-6 year old children, the Fundamental Movement Education Program has been implemented on the test group for 12 weeks; 2 days, 30 minutes in a week. The control group, on the other hand, has not been given movement education.In the validity-reliability study of TGMD-2, interior coherency, test-repeat test reliability, the reliability between independent estimators, the validity of the content, material analysis, the validity of construction have been tested. In the research, in the analysis of the data obtained by experimental operations, One-Factored Covariance Analysis (ANCOVA) and for the impact of age-gender variables, made One-Factored Variance Analysis and regression.In findings, according to age groups, alpha coefficients of BKMG test?s have found to be over 87, the coefficient of correlation between measurements have found to be over 85 and the coefficient of correlation between estimators have found to be over 94. According to the result of BKMG Test?s factor analysis the square 230.00, sd: 53; and RMSEA has found to be 0.069. According to these results, it can be said that BKMG Test is valid and reliable for Turkish children.It has been found that there is a meaningful difference in the BKMG?S last test average scores and the children?s balance skills scores for the children which have been attended or not attended to the Fundamental Movement Education Program (THEP) (p<01]. It is seen that there is a meaningful difference in the scores of the last test of the big muscle motor skills test, according to ages [F(1,58)=103.743, p<01 ]. Gender, on the other hand, makes no difference. It is seen that age and gender affect the scores taken from the last test of the balance sub-test (p<01 ; p<05 ).In the light of these informations, suggestions are introduced in order to improve the movement abilities of children and for the possible future scientific researches.
