Abstract (EN)

Course books are the most essential materials to achieve the goal of a class. In mother tongue education, it is expected that course books improve the word treasure of the students and reflect the vocabulary skill accurately. In addition to the disagreement on the adequacy of the course books, the criticism about the course books are seen in different ways.In this study, it is attempted to determine how related the vocabulary applied in the texts of the course books are with the themes. The question; ?How relevant are the themes to the vocabulary applied in the texts of the Turkish course books in 6th, 7th and 8th grades?? is the problematic sentence of the study.In this research, The Turkish Course Books for 6th, 7th, 8th grades pressed in 2009 by The Ministry of Education have been essential.In this research as a model, the technique of document analysis and scanning has been applied intended for case determination by the approach of qualitative research.At the end of the research, the relation of the vocabulary to the texts in the themes applied in the Turkish course books pressed by The Ministry of Education has been put forward. It has been determined that there are some words helping to understand the themes in the books and the vocabulary in the texts.Key Words: Turkish Training Program, Course Book, Theme, Text
