Abstract (EN)
It was aimed in this study to determine what 6th and 7th graders know about some environmental issues that have been influencing all living beings throughout the history, to what extent they are aware of environmental problems, what they think are the causes of these problems and what kind of environment they prefer.The research is a case study in which qualitative methods and simple random sampling were used, and it was carried out in three elementary schools in Kirsehir in the 2010-2011 Academic Year. The questionnaire items used in the research were prepared by the researcher after taking expert opinions. Of these items, nine are open-ended questions whereas five consist of photos and pictures.It was determined that seventh graders have higher awareness than sixth graders, and boys have higher awareness than girls.
