Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to examine the relationship between post-earthquake trauma levels, transcendence levels and resilience levels of individuals who experienced the February 6 earthquake. In this context, the ability to recover is considered as the dependent variable, and transcendence and post-earthquake trauma level are considered as independent variables. For this purpose, a study was conducted in the relational screening model. The study group of the research consists of a total of 304 adults, 183 (60.2%) of whom are women and 121 (39.8%) of whom are men, between the ages of 18-65. "Personal Information Form", "Post-Earthquake Trauma Level Determination Scale", "Transcendence Scale" and "Resilience Scale" developed by the researcher were used to collect data. Data analysis was done with SPSS 27.0 program. While one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) test is used to examine whether the resilience levels of individuals who have experienced an earthquake differ significantly according to age; Independent groups t-test was used to examine gender, marital status, perceived income level, loss of a loved one in the earthquake, location change after the earthquake, and having an activity that adds meaning to life. Pearson Correlation test was used in the relationships between scale scores. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to examine the role of the total scores of the scales revealing the level of trauma and the level of transcendence after the earthquake in predicting resilience levels. According to the results obtained, when we examined the resilience levels of individuals who experienced the February 6 earthquake according to demographic variables, there was no significant difference between the resilience total scores and gender, loss of a loved one in the earthquake and post-earthquake location change; There is a significant difference between the variables of age, marital status, perceived income level and having an activity that adds meaning to life. A positive, moderate and significant relationship between resilience and transcendence scale total score; It was found that there was a negative, low-level and significant relationship between resilience and the total score of the post-earthquake trauma level determination scale. It was concluded that there were positive, moderate and significant relationships between the level of resilience and spirituality, gratitude, hope, humor and appreciation of aesthetics and perfection. While the level of transcendence is a positively related and statistically significant predictor in individuals who have experienced an earthquake; It was concluded that the level of trauma after the earthquake was negatively related and a significant predictor. It was concluded that appreciation of aesthetics and perfection, hope and humor levels were statistically significant predictors of the resilience. The findings were discussed in the light of the relevant literature and suggestions for the future were presented. It is thought that this study will be of vital importance in providing the necessary psychological support to individuals who are still under the influence of devastating disasters such as earthquakes and in shaping the mental health policies to be implemented.
