Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, optimization processes have been carried out in terms of the design and rotation profile of a closed-circuit wind tunnel. The test chamber section of the wind tunnel measures 7m x 5m. The processes were carried out in such a way that the maximum speed to be realized in the experimental room was 100 m/s. In the study, firstly, the studies conducted in the world and Turkey regarding the wind tunnel were mentioned, and the studies in the literature were mentioned. Then the wind tunnel components were designed. In this section, studies in the literature were used in terms of the use of the most suitable geometries. In order to empirically calculate the losses that will occur in the wind tunnel, the losses in each component are calculated with the help of the related equations. Then, the loss value in the 1st corner of the wind tunnel was calculated numerically. This calculation process is repeated for different rotation profiles and different number of arrays of these profiles. Navier Stokes Equations are solved by using the k-ω turbulence model. Four different turning profiles are used. The results obtained and the empirically calculated loss values were compared. As a result of this comparison, the suitability of the numerical analysis process to the empirical results was evaluated. In addition, numerical analysis results were compared among themselves, and it was evaluated which profile and array were more successful in terms of obtaining uniform values in the output section and creating lower losses.
