Abdallah b. Mas?ûd as a scholar of Islamic Law

Abdallah b. Mas?ud is a Companion of the Prophet (Sahâbî) who was among the earliest Muslims. After embracing Islam he commited his life to the service of the Prophet and tried to spend time with him day and night. His scholarly genius and his contributions to the development of Islamic Law were acknowledged by the Prophet himself.This work is composed of an introduction and of two parts.The introduction deals with the different usages of the term of Fiqh in the language of the Prophet and his Companions.The first chapter discusses the biography of Ibn Mas?ûd. In this context, I searched his educational background, the offical responsibilities he undertook throughout the day of the Prophet and Rightly Guided Caliphs.The second chapter discusses the method adopted by Ibn Mas?ûd in Law while giving his verdicts and his practical judgements in the sprit of his method in Islamic Law.
