Emergency healthcare workers' knowledge levels of CBRN and personal protective equipment: A case study of Kayseri 112

The population of the research consists of 687 healthcare professionals working in pre-hospital emergency healthcare services in Kayseri. The sample of the study was calculated as 247 healthcare workers with a 5% margin of error within a 95% confidence interval. The study was conducted between 01 January and 29 March 2024 on 359 employees who agreed to participate in the research. The study aimed to assess the knowledge levels of healthcare workers, who are pivotal stakeholders in the healthcare sector, regarding CBRN and PPE topics. The survey technique served as the data collection tool in this research. The study incorporated two types of variables: independent variables consisted of demographic inquiries, while dependent variables encompassed levels of knowledge regarding CBRN and PPE. Statistical analysis of the surveys was conducted using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 21.0 software. As a result of the research; It has been found that there is a significant relationship between the CBRN knowledge levels of emergency healthcare workers and the variables of age, job and working time, and the PPE levels and the variables of the unit they work in, profession, educational status and working time.
