vDEVELOPING PARALLEL LOAD BALANCING MODEL ON OPENSOURCE OPERATING SYSTEMS(Ph.D. Thesis)Devrim SERALGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYDecember 2006ABSTRACTNowadays, consistent grows of Internet traffic workloads effects the serverperformance. In this study, a new model represented for parallel load balancersystems which share/balance/reduce Internet traffic loads on server systems. This model uses reference locality principle for network traffic. For proposedmodel, a simulation application have developed and real traffic trace drivensimulations have made. Simulation results showed that, proposed model balanceInternet traffic workloads better than mathematical modulus method.Science Code : 702.3.006Keywords : Load balancing, parallel load balancing, referencelocality, network load balancer, open source codePage Number : 89Thesis Advisor : Prof. Dr. nan GÜLER
