Abstract (EN)
Medicinal Sage is consumed as tea in sore throat and kidney diseases caused by cold and flu; it also has sedative, diuretic, antiperspirant and disinfectant effects. Thujon, which is found in the essential oil of the species of Salvia officinalis, is an essential oil component that has a very strong antiseptic and antibiotic effect. Because of these properties, Sage (Salvia officinalis), which is a medicinal aromatic plant and has a wide usage area, is cultivated. However, the most important cost item in the production of sage is the weed struggle in the first years. The struggle for sapling without using herbicides continues to the level where sage seedlings will shield the soil and prevent the development of other herbs. Therefore, the rapid development of sage seedlings is of great importance for shortening this process and reducing costs. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of hormone application on germination success and seedling morphological characteristics of sage seeds. In the scope of this research, sage seeds were planted with exposed the hormones of IAA, IBA, GA3 and NAA in the 1000, 2500 and 5000 ppm concentrations and also 3-5 sec, 50, 100 and 200 ppm doses for 24 hours; so that, 26 applications were performed with the control groups. Seeds were planted in sterile peat medium after hormone applications and some seedling characters were determined by germination percentage in seedlings after 30 days, the effect of hormone applications on germination percentage and seedling growth were determined. As a result of the research, it was determined that hormone applications positively affect most of seedling characteristics
