Abstract (EN)

Adana is situated in Mediterranean Region between 35° - 38° Northern Latitudeand 34° - 36° Eastern Longitude. Adana is neighboring with Kayseri on the North, on the east Kahramanmaraş and Gaziantep, on the west Niğde and içel, on the Southeast with Hatay. The city has 14. 030km square of acreage and 15 districts included the center., 46 local municipalities and 550 villages.Before the declaration of the republic, the agricultural activities were nearly at zero percent.With the opening of Seyhan Damn in 1956 the agricultural works have started. In the70?s with the opening of wateringfacilities, in the 80?s with the start of the second crop activities, agriculture on Adana?s economy and the effects on the industrial developments will be discussed where there is multicultural cultivation of cotton and textile factories in Çukurovai had leading roles in Adana?s development.In this study the dataabout the role in Turkey?scotton agriculture and textiles industry is given. The textile factories in Adana Organized İndustrial Area, Production of them and their role in Turkey?s and Adana?s economy are stated in this study.
