Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine the prevalence of myiasis flies in Adıyaman region between January 2012 and December 2012, seasonal activities and frequency in different habitats. Headquarters of Adıyaman, Besni and Gölbaşı districts went to Şambayat village and places where flies, animal slaughter places and slaughtered remains were found. In order to assemble and kill flies, snip granules (Z-9 tricotene named pheromone and Azomethiphos) were poured on stinking meat, liver and spleen fragments and a total of 2349 flies were caught from work centers. According to morphological characteristics, the flies were identified as Lucilia sericata in 2019 (85,95%), Musca domestica in 288 (12,26%), Chrysomyia albiceps in 20 (0,85%), ) were found to be Calliphora vicina and 3 (0.13%) Sarcophaga haemorrhoidalis. Male flies produced 2286 (97.32%) female flies and 63 (2.68%) male flies. Adult flies have activity between February and November; the average of flies not seen in December and January; (44,80%) in which the temperature was 20,30 ° C, the relative humidity was 52,1% and the rainfall amount was 50,7 mm 3. When the frequency of sighting of myiasis flies in animal slaughterhouses and trash cans is examined; L.sericata was found at the highest rate in both animal slaughter (87.52%) and dumps (82.17%); Ch.albiceps was found only in animal slaughterhouses. As a result; in Adıyaman region, it was thought that myiasis flies should take precautions for fighting and control programs to prevent animal diseases and economic damages and prevent possible myiasis cases.
