Abstract (EN)

The main source of the radioactivity in the buildings is radon. In the areas with high level radon, the respiration of radon and radon products is being associated with cancer formation in lungs. In this study, in some workplaces in Afyonkarahisar, interior radon concentrations have been determined by using CR-39 nuclear track detectors. Study has been repeated for four times with three months periods in 29 different workplaces located in 4 regions selected by assessment of the tectonic structure of the areas and petrographic features of rocks. Values ranged changing between 13 Bq/m^3 and 1932 Bq/m^3 were acquired and the annual average of radon activity was separately calculated as 159 Bq/m^3 and yearly effective dose they were exposed as 2,1 mSv/y.
