Abstract (EN)

In this study, the lüminescence properties of the Agate and Kemmererite minerals have been investigated. Using the instrument of SEM/EDS, the chemical analysis of minerals has been done by TUBITAK Marmara Research Center, Material Enstitute. The lüminescence properties of these minerals have been studied by the RA94 TLD Reader Analyzer in the Lüminescence Research Laboratory of Celal Bayar University and the thermolüminescence (TL) spectra have been obtained. All spectra within the temperature range of 50 ? 400 0C have been taken for heat rates of 2, 5, 7, 10 0C/s which are obtained as a result of the exposure of minerals to X-rays within time periods of 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 minutes, respectively. The X-rays tube used in the system is a monophase Machlett OEG-50A tube with water cooling. The applied voltage and current in the experiment are 30kV and 15mA. These values have been selected in order not to damage the tube with electrical discharge and not to exceed the safety dose level. Moreover, with the purpose of studying optical absorption of the Agate and Kemmererite minerals in visible region with the wavelenght of 300 ? 700nm the spectrometer system with the instrument of the Perkin Emler Lambda 950 UV/VIS/NIR in the lüminescence Research Laboratory of Celal Bayar University has been used. All measurements and experimental data obtained have been prepaired in the spectrum form and plotted by using the AXUM programme.
