Abstract (EN)

This thesis deals with the critical edition and analysis of the hāshiya (marginal gloss) on the sharḥ (commentary) that Ahmed b. Haydar extant only in manuscript form wrote on İsameddîn's al-Farīda. The study consists essentially of two main parts: the Dirāsa (study/analysis) section and the critically edited text. The Dirāsa section comprises an introduction and two main chapters. The introduction presents the subject, aim, and method of the thesis, and emphasizes the importance of bringing to light works that are on the verge of being lost. The first chapter provides a general introduction to the Haydarī family and examines the life of Ahmed b. Haydar. The research establishes that Ahmed b. Haydar was one of the notable scholars whose name appears in the ijāzahs (licences) of many scholars trained in Iraq and Eastern Anatolia. The second chapter introduces the work and examines the method adopted in its critical edition. It is observed that the author frequently compares the hāshiyas of İsamuddīn and his student Zibārī; he also benefits from the works of Tâftâzânî, Sayyid Sharīf Cürcânî, Ibn al-Ḥājib, as well as studies conducted on these figures and their writings. In the final section, which contains the critically edited text, three manuscript copies of the work were collated in an effort to establish the most accurate version of the text. The critical edition was carried out in accordance with the ISAM Guidelines for Critical Editions (İSAM Tahkikli Neşir Esasları, İTNES).
