Abstract (EN)
Alexander narratives, which have attracted great interest in the Western world for centuries, have found their place in many different cultures over time, paving the way for the emergence of the Iskendernâme genre. These narratives, which became enriched and gained a literary dimension, especially in Arabic and Iranian literature, also pioneered the tradition of writing Alexander narratives. This tradition was also quite popular in Turkish literatüre, and many divan poets wrote Alexander narratives. In this context, Ahmedî's Iskendernâme stands out as an important link in this tradition and has earned a notable place in classical Turkish literatüre. Iskendernâme works are not only historical narratives but also encyclopedic works that reflect the social, political, culturel, religious and geographical understanding of the period. In this study, the locations in Ahmedî's Iskendernâme are examined in order according to Alexander's campaigns and the relationship between the route in the text and historical and geographical reality is identified and shown on a map. An attempt is made to reveal which of these locations correspond to historical and geographical reality and which are fictional or symbolic.
