Ahmet b. Mustafa es-Saruhânî el-Lâlî and Edition Critique and rewrite of his work Kavânînu's-Sarf

The morphology that is one of the fundamental elements of the Arabic language consists of subjects concerning istikak of word. People of the Islamic world have been directed towards learning of Arabic morphology in that the Holy Quran is Arabic, and knowledge about bases of words is deeply important in understanding the Quran. Our author Ahmed b. Mustafa es-Saruhani wrote down his work ?Kavaninu?s-Sarf? in fluent and lucid way for the beginners in Arabic. It is one of the excellent works that introduced concisely the Arabic morphology with respect to its parts, analyses, evidents and style. Our thesis consists of an introduction and two chapters. In introduction, we give knowledge about the birth of the Arabic morphology and related works up to the author?s age. In the first chapter, it is dealt with Ahmed b. Mustafa es-Saruhani?s life and works, and his pamphlet ?Kavaninu?s-Sarf? is introduced. We have little and brief knowledge about the author?s life and works in the literature. There is no certain knowledge about his birth date but the date 971/1563 is of his death. Ibn Kemal Pasazade is mentioned as his master in the sources. Second chapter is related with text and forming/establishing of text. Here, comparing different editions with each other, the authentic edition is determined and criticized.
