Abstract (EN)

Ahmet Erhan, who was born on February 8, 1958 in Ankara, passed away on August 4, 2013 at an early age. Erhan, who published his poems, which he started to write in his early youth, in the Militant Magazine, became famous in the literary world by receiving the Behçet Necatigil poetry award. Erhan, who became known at the age of twenty-two, later won the "Yunus Nadi Gift (1992), Cemal Süreya (1998), Behçet Aysan (2005), Halil Kocagöz (1999) and Melih Cevdet Anday (2008)" poetry awards. Witnessing a chaotic social life in the period he lived in, Erhan's first poetry book entitled Country in Twilight is the work of this witnessing. This book, which was published in 1981 after the September 12, 1980 Coup, caused the poet to be subjected to a one-sided evaluation by calling him a "coup poet" by many researchers. The poet is considered by many researchers as one of the leading figures of 1980's socialist realist poetry. In the first part of the study, information will be given about the poet's childhood and youth years, education and professional life, family and friends, personality, illness, death, and the artist's poetic views on art, literature and poetry will be discussed. In the second part, information will be given about the works of the artist, and in the third part, the poet's poems will be examined thematically and the poet's understanding of poetry will be tried to be revealed. In the same section, the individual and social characteristics of his poems will be evaluated through examples.
