Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out in order to find out the resistance of biscuit type cornerjoints in case furniture to compression and tensile strength. For this purpose, compressing and tensile strenght were applied on straigth and set square tip (45o)corner joints made of particle board and MDF using PVAc and Desmodur-VTKA.As a result, MDF, Desmodur-VTKA, set square type joints showed the higheststrength to compressing strength. MDF+Desmodur- VTKA+set square type jointshowed the highest, particle board+PVAc+straight joint showed the lowestresistance to compressing strenght from the point of board+glue+corner joininginteraction. Fiber board+Desmodur-VTKA+set square type joint showed thehighest, particle board+PVAc+straigth joint showed the lowest resistance totensile strength from the point of material+glue+corner joint type effect. As areslut of this, it could be advantageous to apply biscuit type tanque and groove, fiber board , Desmodur-VTKA and set square tip joints in corner joints.Science Code :711Keywords :Case furniture, biscuit joint, corner joint, compression and tensionstrength.Page number :48Adviser : Doç Dr. Musa ATAR
